Frozen Ropes Chester Hosts Annual Big Apple Softball Showcamp

CHESTER, NY Frozen Ropes National Training Center in Chester, NY hosted Northeast players and colleges in their annual Summer Softball Camp and Showcase on Thursday, July 5. Tony Abbatine, Frozen Ropes founder and performance coach for USA Softball’s national team was the camp director.

The event featured over 50 softball players and 10 schools including Southern Connecticut State University, Pace University, University of Rhode Island, College of the Holy Cross, Monmouth University, SUNY Cortland, The University of Scranton, Seton Hall University, Dominican College and Saint Peter’s University.

Coaches from these top schools conducted an a skills camp including group and one-on-one instruction with players during the morning hours. Following instruction in the afternoon, players showed-off their skills during supervised game time out on the fields.

Following the Thursday camp is a 3-day Softball Showcase Tournament at the premier baseball and softball training facility, where softball teams will also be displaying their skills to visiting Northeast colleges.
