How to break habit of closing eyes during swing.

Saturday, February 20, 2010 by Matt Adkins

My son is 12 years old and is an above average ball player but has been in a batting slump for some time in the batting cage he crushes the ball but at the plate he stikes out. Recently I have video taped him and it appears that he is closing his eyes during the swing. He says he does not realize that he is doing this yet continues to do so any ideas of how to break this habit would be great.

Hey there. I was wondering if I should even bother trying out for my High School's JV team?

Saturday, February 20, 2010 by Kevin Guerrero

I've played one year prior to this. Our school has amazing records every year. Just last year, they had 21 wins and went State. I'm not experienced. However, I feel that I have attributes that should earn me a spot on team? Because if not, then I'll play another year in Little League. I don't want to get embarrassed at tryouts. So should I even bother?

"dragging" the bat through the zone

Wednesday, January 13, 2010 by Mar

My 11 year old son has always been able to hit to all fields. Lately I've noticed that he will sometimes "drag" the bat through the zone. Often the ball is hit hard but I see him having a difficult time with catching up to the harder throwers. I have worked hard with him on his lower body mechanics and have done a lot of one hand (top&bottom) "soft toss". Any suggestions? He throws right, hits left.

I am a 14 year old baseball player. I was very good in middle school and was the best player on my school team. However, I am now a freshman in high school trying to make the varsity baseball team. What are some of the biggest challenges and differences I will be facing in high School baseball? What are high school coaches looking for when they are choosing their players? How can I impress the coaches?

Mendoza swing vs. Ramirez swing

Thursday, July 09, 2009 by Sarah

I have heard Frozen Ropes say that their swings are similar, how can that be with the softball being thrown from a shorter distance and the pitch release angle for softball is underhand?
