When Jesse Orosco retired in 2003, after 24 long years as a major league relief pitcher, he wanted nothing more than to kick up his feet, watch his kids grow up, and play lots and lots of golf.

Now Orosco, a 55-year-old Carmel Valley resident, conducts individual lessons and group clinics and serves as the pitching coach for a 16-and-under travel team, while working alongside his son, Jesse Jr., a former Poway High pitcher who played four seasons of minor-league baseball
