Hey there. I was wondering if I should even bother trying out for my High School's JV team?

I've played one year prior to this. Our school has amazing records every year. Just last year, they had 21 wins and went State. I'm not experienced. However, I feel that I have attributes that should earn me a spot on team? Because if not, then I'll play another year in Little League. I don't want to get embarrassed at tryouts. So should I even bother?

Coach Andy says:

Believe me, it's better to go through life saying I'm glad I did, rather than I wish I would have. If you went through life avoiding challenges because you were worried about getting "embarassed" you won't go anywhere! What do you really have to lose? Sounds to me though, that you haven't really put in the sacrifice that others have to truly secure a spot. Go ask a professional coach their opinion, one who has put kids into different high school programs everywhere. Lastly, why don't you ask yourself if you REALLY want to be one of the select few to play high school baseball? Anything worth having will NEVER be achieved through comfort and convenience.
