Danny Zeffiro, a two-time All-American, is the winningest pitcher in Kean University history. While at Kean he helped lead the school to its 1st ever National Championship in 2007. During that season, Danny pitched seven complete games including game 1 of the College World Series where he struck out nine and allowed an unearned run on four hits in 12 innings as Kean won 4-1. In addition to the numerous all-state/all-region awards Danny earned during his years at Kean, he won a national award for the lowest ERA in 2005 with 0.90 ERA in 80 innings. He was named a college All-American in 2005 and 2007.
After graduating from Kean, Danny signed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played in the Pioneer League as well as the Florida State League where he pitched over 35 innings in relief striking out 26 batters. Danny spent his 2009 season in Southern Illinois playing for the Miners in the Frontier League where he was 6-4 with a 4.69 ERA in pitching 109 innings.
Danny has been instructing players of all ages on the finer points of the game for over 7 years and is the director of the Frozen Ropes strength and conditioning and team training programs.
