Danny Florence - Owner
Danny (Flo) is the owner of Frozen Ropes McKinney. He has more than 20 years of experience in coaching baseball and helping players maximize their baseball skills and is very well known in the national coaching community for his passionate attention to detail in all aspects of the game. Danny has been a national speaker at conventions throughout the country and is a specialist in analyzing throwing motion and helping players gain arm speed while reducing the chances of injury. He holds a BS in Kinesiology from University of North Texas.
Danny served as Assistant Coach at both Brookhaven CC and McKinney HS before taking over the reins at Sherman HS and building that program into an annual playoff contender. Danny has also spent the last 18 years coaching the highest level of select baseball in the DFW area and has been a scout for the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds. He is in charge of the development plan of the company as well as overseeing the instructional consistency of all baseball instruction at Frozen Ropes North Dallas. Danny and his wife Judy reside in McKinney, TX with their two children, AJ (22) and Bailey (18).
Corey Thornton - Lead Instructor
Coach T is Lead Instructor at Frozen Ropes Mckinney. He has 20 plus years experience in teaching and coaching baseball in the DFW area. Coach Thornton severd as an assistant coach at Brookhaven CC for 10 years and head coach for 3 seasons, helping BHC reach the NJCAA Division 1 Regionals and the NJCAA Division 3 Regionals. Coach T has helped guide teams to Connie Mack (18u) and Mickey Mantle (16u) World Series appearances in summer select baseball. His 2014 15U team won the AABC Ken Griffey Jr World Series and his 2014 12U team won the USSSA Triple A World Series. Coach T specializes in catching and hitting, and has a large fastpitch hitting clientele.
Corey previously worked seven years an associate scout for the Tampa Bay Rays. Coach T got his start in the High School ranks, working two years as an assistant varsity coach. Coach Thornton began teaching private lessons in 1992 and received his BS in Kinesiology and MED in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Corey resides in Farmersville Texas.
John Pat McKinney - Front Desk
John works the front desk and pro-shop at Ropes. John is responsible for scheduling and pro-shop sales. He worked 20 plus years in sporting good sales and accounts received.
He is a long-time resident of McKinney, TX.
John Briscoe - Senior Instructor
John is a Sr. Instructor and has been with Frozen Ropes North Dallas since 2005 and has quickly become one of the most popular pitching coaches in the system. He has a special way of teaching his students about mound presence, finger pressures, and the mental side of pitching as well as the rhythm and swing direction in his hitters. John spent 6 yrs with the Oakland A's during his 15 year professional baseball stint before arm injuries ended his pitching career. John and his wife Kay reside in Dallas, TX with their daughter, Sloan.
Zac Senf - Senior Instructor/College Recruiting Coordinator
Zac joined the staff of Frozen Ropes McKinney in 2011. A former player under "Coach T" at Brookhaven college, Zac saw prior JUCO stops at Midland and Eastfield College before finsihing up his playing career at the University of Texas - Permian Basin. An advanced instructor in hitting technique and mechanics, Zac specializes in the recruiting process of athletes into the Frozen Ropes program and it's high school level players into the collegiate game. With strong rapport with college coaches all over the country, the success rate of Frozen Ropes high school level players into college playing opportunities is one of the highest in the area. Along with coaching and recruiting duties, Zac also creates and develops marketing initiatives for Frozen Ropes McKinney. Zac has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communications.
TJ Ladd - Senior Instructor/Camp Coordinator
TJ is our Youth Program/Party Coordinator and is a full time instructor at Frozen Ropes. He grew up in the Frozen Ropes system with Danny Florence and was a star infielder at McKinney North HS where he still holds the record for doubles in a season. TJ won offensive MVP honors as a senior After his college baseball career ended, TJ came back to become an instructor. Mr. Ladd is the camp coordinator and schedules all of the classes at Frozen Ropes North Dallas. TJ is in his 7th year here and is certified in the Frozen Ropes system. He also coaches the Frozen Ropes 14u AAA team and 15u team. He resides in Mckinney.
Ryan Dittfurth - Senior Instructor
Ryan has been teaching with Frozen Ropes North Dallas since 2004. Ryan graduated from Tulsa Union High School and was a 5th round draft choice of the Texas Rangers in 1998. In 2001 he was their Minor League Pitcher of the Year winner and attended the 2002 Futures game. Ryan played professionally for 10 years. Ryan is one of the favorites at Frozen Ropes with his students for his attention to mechanical detail and his unique mental approach for pitchers. Ryan and his wife Melani and their daughter Linley live in Melissa.
Wes Morrow - Senior Instructor
Wes is a full time instructor at Frozen Ropes and coaches one of the 13u Majors teams. Coach Wes doubles as and assistant coach in the 15u division as well. Wes played for Coach Flo at Sherman high school where he was drafted in the Major League draft. He played two seasons at Grayson College as a two way player (a rarity in college baseball today) before beginning his professional career. Mr. Morrow was a pitcher in the Seattle Mariners organization where his fastball was clocked in the upper 90's. Wes is a great communicator with youth players and is extremely knowledgable in all aspects of the game.
Craig Stansberry - Instructor
A Plano native, Craig played his college ball at North Central in Gainsville winning a National Championship. He followed up with a College World Series visit as a Rice Owl, where he played for the legendary Wayne Graham. Craig moved on to play professionally with the San Diego Padres. Craig put together several years as a big league bench player and has a lifetime big league batting average of .333. He is also the only player in Major League history to be born in Saudi Arabia. Craig has been a student at Frozen Ropes since 2005 and has been an instructor since 2011.
Kevin Shelton - Instructor
Kevin leads the Texas Glory Fast-pitch Organization and coaches the 18U and 14U squads. Kevin has been a member of the National Fast-pitch Coaches Association since 2004 and has a 2 star NFCA coaching certification. He has been teaching private instruction for 9 years. Kevin has coaching since 1997 and has worked with over 60 college players. His daughter Kathy is a softball player at Baylor University.
