Christy Connor has a lifetime of experience playing and coaching softball at the highest levels. As the first baseman for LSU, she played on the 2001 NCAA Women's College World Series Championship team, and was one of the top 12 hitters in the tournament. Christy led LSU in doubles in 2002 and homeruns in 2003. She was a 3 time All-Conference and All-Tournament selection, 2001 Louisiana Newcomer of the Year, and completed her college career at LSU ranked 4th in all-time career home runs.
Connor stayed on at LSU as student-coach, and was part of the 2004 NCAA Women's College World Series staff. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as hitting and infield coach at Div I, Louisiana Tech. In her first year, the team batting average increased from .233 to .298.
Christy grew up playing softball in the Katy Girls Softball Association from the age of 5. As catcher for Taylor High School, the Mustangs competed for the first time in the UIL 5A Women's softball state tournament. Connor's team, The Katy Cruisers, made history in 2000 when they became the first team outside of California to win the ASA Girl's 18-Under Gold National Championship, the most highly anticipated event in the country for Junior Olympic softball. She was selected All-American along with teammates Cat Osterman and Lindsay Gardner.
Since 2004, Christy has given private instruction to players of all ages. "It was a fun sport to play, but my passion is teaching the game. As an instructor, I want to help athletes be successful on the field and in life by inspiring dedication, accountability and a good work ethic. I teach with enthusiasm and respect".
As Co-Owner and Director of Instruction at Frozen Ropes, Christy is excited to bring the highest level of expertise and training to the baseball and softball players of Katy, and is proud to offer a training facility that is unmatched in the Houston area.
