The 3rd Frozen Ropes Training Center in Texas will be opening in September 2009 in Katy, Texas.
Christy Connor, owner of the Katy franchise, says she chose Frozen Ropes because the curriculum and teaching philosophy is based on over 20 years of experience in player development, including the most current research in biomechanics, sports psychology, visual skills and strength and conditioning.
Connor, 28, has played and coached softball for 23 years, beginning with the Katy Girls Softball Association. As a catcher at Taylor High School, her team represented Katy at the State finals. The next year, her ASA 18U Gold team, Katy Cruisers, won the National Tournament in St. Louis, where Connor was named All American, along side Cat Osterman. She spent one year playing first base for UTSA, being named All Southland Conference as a freshman, before transferring to LSU to finish out her playing career.
"Playing as a young athlete in KGSA, I had a desire to provide this first class facility to families, and work with our leagues and travel teams to make us a stronger baseball and softball community"
Christy made two trips to the Women's College World Series, one as a player and the other as a student coach. She later coached at Louisiana Tech, before returning to Katy.
