• Jon Link, Baseball Pitching Instructor- Jon returns for his second winter as a pitching instructor at Frozen Ropes.  Jon Link is a relief pitcher recently traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers from the Chicago White Sox.  In 2009 he pitched in Spring Training with the Chicago White Sox then landed at Class AAA Charlotte Knights where he was the closer. In 2008, Jon was named Minor League Reliever of the Year posting 36 saves at Class AA Birmingham Barons in the Southern League.  The Chantilly High School graduate was 1st team All District & All Region and drafted by Montreal Expos in 2002 MLB draft.  While attending Bluefield College, Jon was 1st team all AAC, AAC Pitcher of the year and drafted by San Diego Padres in 2005.  Summary of Jon's Pro career (click here for stats):

• Joe McDonald, Baseball Instructor-   Joe is the Head Baseball Coach at George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, VA.  During Coach McDonald's first year at Marshall, in 2009, he led the Statesmen to only their second regional tournament appearance in ten years.  Joe was previously the head coach at McLean High School where he led his teams to the regional tournament in 2004 and 2005.  Joe was named the Liberty District Coach of the Year in 2004.  Coach McDonald has also been an assistant coach at Freedom High School in South Riding and Altoona (PA) Area High School.  He is the Head Baseball Coach for the NVTBL Stars 16 U Team, a high level travel baseball team in Northern Virginia.  Coach McDonald is a special education teacher at Marshall High School.
• Amanda Nikolenko, Softball Pitching Instructor- Amanda recently completed one season as an assistant coach on the George Washington Colonials' softball staff. She was a 2008 graduate and four-year starter at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She finished her tenure atop the Roadrunners' all-time career record lists in innings (723), starts (107), wins (65), strikeouts (574) and complete games (73). In high school, she was named the 2003 Missouri Pitcher of the Year. After leaving UTSA, Nikolenko traveled to France, playing in every inning for the French softball team in the European Cup in the summer of 2008, either in the circle, at third or at shortstop. The Ashland, Mo., native gained coaching experience from 2005-2008 as a pitchers and catchers coach with the Missouri Madness 18U softball team and as a private pitching and hitting instructor.
