Notre Dame's Super Sophomore Erin Marrone Earns 3rd Team All Big East Honors

"Bursting onto the conference scene as a sophomore, Marrone made her presence known with a grand slam against Seton Hall, one of her two home runs on the year. The second was a solo shot against Louisville. Marrone batted .444 with 20 hits in 45 plate appearances with four doubles as an outfielder for the Irish. Her on-base pct. stood at .528 by season's end. "
Alexandria's Erin Marrone (Bishop O'Connell HS) was voted to the All Big East Softball 3rd team Outfield this week. Erin trains at Frozen Ropes Chantilly and also is on our Summer Camp staff. Its been great to watch many of Erin's games on TV this Spring as we've been cheering her on. Congratulations Erin on a great season!!!! Notre Dame's games were also live streamed on the web and many of our students benefited from live analysis of at-bats, pitch calls and other game strategies during individual lesson and team training programs. Frozen Ropes Chantilly Provided Coaches Training to Local Leagues
In Februrary and March, Frozen Ropes Chantilly provided coaches training to over 200 youth coaches in Northern Virginia at its Training Center in Chantilly. Frozen Ropes Staff hosted coaches from CYA Youth and Little League Baseball, CYA Softball, Reston Little League, and SYA Softball. The coaches were introduced to the Amateur Coaches Alliance online video library and participated in a variety of drills focused on hitting, fielding, and throwing. Coaches were also provided insight into how to organize dynamic practices that keep young players attention and provide them with more opportunities. Special thanks to all the youth coaches who came out Frozen Ropes and participated as "Players". You make a tremendous difference in young players lives and deserve special recognition and thanks.
