What skills need to be developed at what levels?

Aside from pitchers beginning to throw breaking balls, all young adolescents need to be constantly focusing on proper arm action, running form, hitting mechanics and fielding skills. Physical tools can be enhanced naturally through strength and conditioning programs focusing on “core work’, speed and agility. Learning ‘body control’ is the first step in skill development. As players mature they are constantly adjusting to their ever changing bodies. Understanding one's own strengths and weaknesses is crucial to development.  It is extremely important that parents and teenage players understand how major leaguers train and that their actions and motions can be copied by all ages. Here at frozen Ropes we have the resources to bring you that information and show you how to apply it to your own game. Big Leaguers are constantly working on the fundamentals of the game. Those fundamentals stay the same much like training in the martial arts. The ‘moves’ that major leaguers work on daily are the same for all ages.  Major leaguers have more tools and higher skill levels, but the hitting, throwing and fielding absolutes are universal and can be applied to all levels. The only difference is the speed and precision in which the actions occurs. Much like lifting weights, the exercises and drills should be similar (and can be) mechanically speaking, the ‘weight’ just needs to be adjusted to fit the age and abilities of the younger player. Our goal is to evaluate current tools and skill levels and ‘prescribe’ a program to fit the individual's needs. Adjustments are made in the number of repetitions, distance and batting practice pitch speed. As the saying goes, "nothing stays the same” we are either getting better or getting worse. Frozen Ropes training centers provide all players with the major league knowledge that will ensure they are working to reach their ‘end game’.
